Stroke occurs when blood supply to the brain is interrupted. There are two types of stroke ; ischemic and hemorrhagic. Ischemic stroke occurs when an artery that supplies blood to the brain gets blocked. Hemorrhagic stroke occurs when the artery bursts out and blood smears to the surrounding tissues of the brain. The symptoms of stroke are paralysis on one side of the body (hemiparesis), loss of speech, cognitive deficits, blurry vision, hard time swallowing, difficulty speaking and understanding, unable to control urinating and excreting feces, long or short-term memory loss, difficulty walking and sudden severe headache. If stroke patients are not able to recover properly, they will have to suffer from aftermath of stroke for the rest of their lives.

Acupuncture treats stroke by increasing blood flow to the brain and improving muscle sensation, motor abilities, balance and speech. Our goal is to start rehabilitation services as soon as possible and to provide patients with the opportunity to regain total functionality.
